In this section only the “Hub” needs to be selected when creating an order. All other information as far as delivery date and request times will be added during the scheduling process. The “Door”, “Stop” and “Time” will be used during the routing of the order.

The "Delivery Information" section is used to schedule the order delivery:

1) The "del date" field is where the delivery date will be scheduled. This opens a new window:

  • Users will have access to select a delivery date within allocations- preset delivery settings, restricting deliveries based on date, region, and number of orders/pieces already scheduled for delivery. Dates that are full due to one of these factors will be shown in red, and open dates will be shown in black.
  • Managers will have the ability to override these allocations, and select any delivery date in the "Override Delivery Date" section.
  • Deliveries which have already been scheduled will show in the "Scheduled Deliveries" section.

2) The "request time" records the customers request for a specific delivery time.  This could be a request like "between 1pm and 3pm", "before noon", or "after 4pm".  To enter time requests like "before" or "after", only enter the starting time or the ending time, leaving the other blank.

3) The "door" field indicates which warehouse door the delivery will be made from.  This provides the warehouse workers with information as to where the merchandise should be staged.

4) The "stop nbr" field indicates the position of the delivery on the specific route.

5) The "time" field is a picklist of time windows, designating the time frame within the order will be delivered.

6) The "region" is defined at the zip code level, and is used to group zip codes into geographic areas.  These regions are then used to set delivery allocations which helps to determine the appropriate delivery date (above).

7) The "rte" field is determined at the zip code level, and allows for finer tuning of the geographic "region" that the zip code has been added to.

8) The "hub" field is a picklist of pre-designated warehouses. The user can select which hub the delivery will come from. Only hubs that the user has been granted access to will be displayed.

9) The "miles" field indicates the number of miles from the servicing warehouse to the customer's house.

10) The "zone" field indicates the invoice delivery zone assigned to the zip code (which are defined in the "Invoice Delivery Zone" menu).
